School Mission Statement
The school aims at providing a healthy, liberal, sound and all-round education to children in an atmosphere free from all inhibitions and prejudices. It prepares them to be good, responsible and useful citizens of India.
School Background
The school started in 1923 as a Jagirdar College, an exclusive residential institution for the princely words of Jagirdars. Mr. H. Wakenfield, the Court of Wards to the Nizam of Hyderabad, took the initiative to establish this institution of British public School lines, and for the exclusive educational requirements of the sons of Jagirdars. It functioned as 'Jagirdars College' till 1950 when the Jagirdarri system was abolished. The Management of the institution was then handed over, by the Government, to the newly constituted Hyderabad public School, Begumpet". Dr. S. Radhakishnan was the first President of the Society. Departing from its princely status admission, the school was thrown open to boys of all communities. The school remained exclusively for boys until 1978 but from 1979 girls began to be admitted as day scholars. Now the school has residential facilities for both Boys and Girls.
