School Background

The Punjab public school was started in 1960 with a view to provide quality public school education to the deserving children of the ex-servicemen, serving personnel of the Defence forces and the civilians. The guiding force in the opening of the school was Sadar Partap Sing Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab. The school was formally inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, President of India, in April 1961. The school, in its initial stages, was financed by the Post-War Services Reconstruction Fund and the Punjab Government made buildings and land available to the schol and also gave substantial financial help. The most important characteristic of this school, as of other public schools, is that we follow the noble principle of the India Constitution i.e. equal oportunity to all in the field of education. Admission is open to all and not restricted to students of a particular class, creed or community.
