Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya was founded in 1956 by late Her Highness Rajmata of Gwalior, Shrimant Vijayaraje Scindia. The Rajmata, a strong supporter of the cause of women’s education, felt the need of a premier institution in Gwalior where young girls would receive the best modern Indian education.
